2021-22 YEARBOOKS ON SALE 2021/2022 Yearbooks are currently on sale for $35 each. The price will increase to $40 a book on September 25th; and again will increase January 1st to $45.00. Please order yours today by calling Jostens at 1-877-767-5217 or going online to order at jostenyearbooks.com.


FOR DUAL ENROLLMENT Spring semester enrollment begins October 25. Spring course offerings are now available to view in MyMAC. Start looking that over and be ready to go select your classes EARLY on October 25 if you plan to take a Dual Enrollment Lab.


FBLA A reminder that FBLA dues and applications need to be turned in to Mrs. Portell by October 21


HALLOWEEN DANCE There will be a Halloween dance after parent/teacher conferences on Thursday 10/21 until 7pm-9pm. Admission is $5 at the door. Outside guest forms can be picked up and returned to the PHS office by Tuesday, 10/19 at 3pm. The dance will include a scavenger hunt, costume contest, haunted hallway, concessions and music. All costumes must meet the dress code policy.


BASKETBALL CHEER TRYOUTS Tryouts are going to be November 1-3 in the PHS round building from 3:30-5. Starting Monday, October 18th, tryout packets will be in the office for students to pick up.


VETERAN'S DAY ASSEMBLY PHS will have a Veteran's Day assembly on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 9am in the gym. A PowerPoint presentation will be presented honoring our local veterans. If you know a veteran who would like to be included, please follow the steps below: Email a picture to jportell@potosir3.org Include your relationship to the veteran, their name, dates of service, military branch and any other important information. Veterans do NOT have to be included in the PowerPoint to attend the assembly. Veterans do NOT have to attend the assembly to be included in the PowerPoint. Pictures are due by Friday, November 5th.


FBLA MEETING There will be a FBLA meeting on Thursday, October 28 before or after school in Mrs. Portell's room.

VOICE OF DEMOCRACY Voice of Democracy submissions are due to Mr. Kester on Monday October, 25.


FALL SPORTS ATHLETIC BANQUET Fall Sports Athletic Banquet will be held on Tuesday, November 9th at 6:00pm in the Round Room.


SENIOR PORTRAITS Senior pictures will be taken on Wednesday, November 17th. Morning Unitec students will begin taking pictures at 7:30am. All other seniors will be called out by alphabet. Senior men are expected to wear a tie and a long sleeved, button up, collared shirt. Senior ladies are expected to wear something dress code appropriate with no writing on the front. Seniors will not receive packets from the office prior to picture day for ordering. You will have the opportunity for a pose of you choosing in addition to the picture for the yearbook and wall composite and the cap and gown picture. You will receive proofs after pictures are taken, orders will be made from the proofs.


NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY Any senior that is part of the National Honor Society and planning to enroll in a postsecondary college or university in fall of 2022 that is interested in the National Honor Society Scholarship should stop by the library to pick up the overview and guide to apply. All applications/certifications should be received by the NHS by 1:00PM on Wednesday, December 1, 2021.


SENIORS The Associated General Contractors of Missouri Education Foundation Scholarships are awarded to students entering a construction related program of study. The program can be a Department of Labor approved apprenticeship program, technical school program, or two or four year college program. The information page provides more details on the qualifications for application and how to submit the application with the required additional information. Last year a total of $62,000 was divided between 32 applicants. Click here to go to Kaleidoscope, the scholarship management platform which is hosting the application.
